A critical commentary on and exploration into eye contact
This project began as an attempt to facilitate and encourage human connection
It developed into an exploration into eye contact, how we use it when interact with one another and whether it makes us engage more or less deeply in conversation
I decided I wanted to encourage people to engage in more eye contact as I found it was an important element of human connection
Brainstorming and Exploration Phase
It ultimately manifested as the design of a wearable - shown below - which I got people to wear in places where people usually avoid interaction, especially eye contact - lifts, queues, bus stops
It was interesting to see people engage with eachother more in these situations even if it was only through eye contact instead of conversation
I would have liked to develop this project further and may return to it in the future
